Klingmann Architects and Brand Consultants is a full service architecture and branding firm that focuses on sustainability and local cultures. We take an interdisciplinary approach, providing services such as brand strategy, masterplanning, landscaping, and architectural design and work in a range of scales from mixed use communities to residential interiors and everything in between. Based in New York City, we work with clients around the world to create unique spaces that forge a meaningful connection with users.

Position Overview:

Klingmann Architects and Brand Consultants is immediately seeking an intermediate architect or interior designer to assist on the design of 6 branded coffee shops in Germany. The successful candidate will be hired on a freelance full-time basis for an initial period of 4 months, commencing on August 8, 2011.

Candidate should demonstrate a proven track record in hospitality/retail projects - ideally be experienced in the design of cafes, restaurants and/or coffee shops that have an eclectic, authentic, sustainable, and creative vibe.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Architectural or Interior Design Degree
  • Be highly creative and literal in new design trends
  • Experience in all design phases with experience seeing minimum of one project through construction administration
  • Experience organizing & assembling construction documents; proven technical skills in detailing interiors, façade details and custom-built furniture
  • Ability to communicate effectively with consultants, clients, and contractors; experience coordinating work of consulting engineers
  • Experience using drafting and modeling software (preferably AutoCad and 3D Max), Experience in using Adobe Suite and Excel desired
  • Strong communication, organizational and collaborative skills
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced and rigorous environment
  • Additional graphic skills such as layouting and photoshop collages/renderings a plus
  • Knowledge of the German language and/or experience in the German design field a plus
  • Contract fee is competitive and based on experience/skill level.
