Duties:
The candidate will be a team member providing instruction and training in
Lakeshore Technical College's environmental safety/hazardous materials areas.
The major teaching duties will be business and industry training contracts and
seminars, with some work in the Associate Degree - Environmental Hazardous
Material Specialist program and the Industrial Health and Safety Advanced
Certificate program. Course and seminar design, delivery, and customized
training as identified by business and industry are included.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety, industrial hygiene or related field (seven
years of directly related work experience can be accepted in lieu of Bachelor's
degree). Minimum of two years (2000 hours) of recent related occupational
experience in the area of environmental safety and hazardous materials. Working
knowledge of Federal and State DNR, EPA, DOT, and OSHA environmental
and hazardous materials/waste regulations. Experience in confined space and
confined space rescue. Experience presenting programs, seminars and
workshops. Must meet the Wisconsin Technical College System certification
requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), OSHA certification,
construction safety and/or trenching background would complement this position.
