Position Overview

The Inside Sales Specialist is a split role between inside sales and customer service activities. Specialists are accountable for customer and territory management, new customer acquisition and activities leading to specific sales quota obtainment (75%). They will also be responsible for supporting customer service activities (25%).  

The ideal candidate is a master at understanding people, an expert at displaying empathy, remains calm under stress, and can politely diffuse conflict all, while skillfully building relationships with customers.

Note: This is an Inside Sales position that requires no outside travel. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow assigned accounts to meet sales revenue quota
  • Interact and follow-up with leads, prospects, and current customers
  • Acquire new sales opportunities via inbound lead follow-up, both self-generated and those provided by the company, as well as outbound cold calls and emails
  • Consult with customers per agreed upon call cycle to provide them with product and promotional information, gain display placement and distribution of “core items” and new products into accounts
  • Keep a daily activity account log showing all contact with accounts including phone calls and emails, the length of time spent on each account and any pertinent notes regarding the account.  The log must be turned in weekly to supervisor. 
  • Manage pricing and promotion activities for assigned territory
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints, special orders, and returns
  • Act as a product knowledge specialist, answering technical product questions from customers
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding service and order status. Receives and processes orders
  • Enter orders, process RMAs, as well as update customer information in the company database
  • Provide excellent customer service meeting or exceeding Company standards

Work Schedule:

  • Must be willing to work 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday) and additional hours as needed

Qualifications

The Must Haves:

  • High level of problem-solving skills
  • Must be an attentive and empathetic listener
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must possess a patient but positive attitude, professional courtesy, and a desire to exceed expectations
  • Must be able to maintain accuracy with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Able to work alone and as part of a team
  • Must possess computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have excellent time management skills and be adaptable to change
  • Must be able to work in times of high stress
  • Must be able to sit or stand at a computer for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment
  • High school diploma or the equivalent required
  • One year of relevant experience, selling dietary supplements, preferred
  • Prior experience making outbound sales calls preferred
