Position Overview
Support the Sales and Marketing department's business growth plans by assisting sales team and providing outstanding and memorable customer support.
We offer a unique office setting in a historic building in Hudson.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage new and existing customer inquiries, pre-qualify new leads, enter in CRM system, and send requested follow-up materials.
- Review and distribute web based leads to appropriate sales team member or department.
- Enter sample orders in CRM and follow up on samples sent to potential and existing customers.
- Provide inside sales support to Sales Account Managers when they are in and out of the office.
- Work with Credit Manager from submission of new credit applications through new customer set-up.
- Travel <5% to key trade shows to be determined by department manager.
- Manage base of smaller accounts.
- Act at liaison between sales and customer service.
- Assist department manager with sales contracts.
- Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in B2B sales and sales support; food ingredient sales a plus.
- Four year college degree in business or science; prefer 4 year food related degree.
- Proven high level of interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to listen, resolve problems, deal with unresolved issues, delays and unexpected events.
- Ability to learn quickly and retain multitudes of information required to perform job responsibilities.
- Outstanding organizational and follow-up skills.
- Proven ability to function well in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
- Advanced computer skills using MS Office Suite and the Internet.
Preferred Experience/Attributes:
- Experience in (or good understanding of) the food industry.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated professional with a passion for building and maintaining customer relationships.
- Dependability and a strong work ethic.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the sales department.
- Energetic with a positive outlook and inquisitive, open mind.
- Sales experience with food ingredients a huge plus.
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems.
