KLD Research & Analytics, Inc. is the world's leading provider of corporate investment intelligence on social, environmental, and corporate governance issues.
The Index Associate is responsible for supporting a broad range of activities of the index business unit. Projects involve working with and coordinating activities of the Index team, including overseeing projects for the Managing Director and other team members. Primary responsibilities include project management, coordinating marketing and public relations, and supporting index managers and data manager.
Specific Duties Include:
1. Support index operations. Works with Managing Director to direct projects related to building index business unit. Document index group management polices and practices and work with other team members to develop documentation. Coordinate projects within index team and between index group and other KLD departments. Manage regular Index team meetings. Respond to inquiries from financial professionals and retail investors about KLD indexes.
2. Coordinate marketing. Lead responsibility for Index group marketing. Includes creation of marketing collateral from creative to content drafting and editing. Work with KLD marketing team. Coordinate index website management with IT and marketing communications. Draft press releases; update pitch books and product/service descriptions; and work with public relations consultants. Assist on marketing and sales campaigns.
3. Support index managers. Assist on various index management activities, including preparation of committee meeting documents and taking meeting minutes as required.
4. Support index data manager. Collect and manage data for index product development, data analysis and reporting. Support relationships with vendors and data distributors.
Supervision: Index Associate reports to the Managing Director of Indexes. This role has direct responsibility for certain projects and works under the direction of index team members on other activities. The Managing Director reviews results on a regular basis and annually in a performance review.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree is required. Experience in financial services, CFA credit or other financial certification are a plus. Position requires broad range of organizational, quantitative and interpersonal skills for internal project work and customer and vendor contact. Candidates must be able to handle multiple tasks and work with a wide range of internal and external constituencies. Strong written and oral communication skills and exceptional attention to detail are essential qualifications. Must have the ability to work independently and in groups. Marketing experience and a general technical understanding of indexes and related data are an advantage. The position may evolve into an operational management role as the index business unit grows.
