Head of Political Unit

Climate change, energy and transport policy, nuclear and chemical pollution, the loss of forest and depletion of the world's oceans, Greenpeace UK is campaigning on all fronts. Progress, however is impeded by established interests and stronger political action is necessary to force the generation of environment sustainable outcomes.

Greenpeace UK aims to consolidate its position as the leading environmental policy presence in Britain and continue taking on these challenges, including those posed by a new generation of unfamiliar and emerging environmental risks.

As head of the Political Unit, you will develop our political strategies, implement our campaigns at a political level and co-ordinate this work to meet our programme objectives.

Qualifications:

We seek a strong and assertive individual with an in-depth political knowledge and established government contacts in the UK and overseas, plus at least three years' experience of political lobbying at a senior, national or international level.

Also, excellent communication and staff management skills are required, along with the ability to contribute effectively to the development of new ideas for the senior management team.
