EME Group, a nationally recognized professional engineering and building system consulting firm, conveniently located near Penn Station in Manhattan, is seeking a mid-level degreed Architect to work with our sustainability consulting team as a Green Building Specialist.

EME provides building system and sustainable design services, energy analysis and building commissioning. Our clients include governmental agencies, private sector developers and world renowned Architectural firms. EME provides these services on high-profile projects throughout the country. You will be working directly alongside a distinguished team of architects and engineers.

Position Overview: 

The position requires work with clients, architects, and contractors to facilitate, verify, and certify buildings in accordance with the LEED Green Building Rating System. The candidate should have experience sourcing and specifying green building products, analyzing green building features, and documenting green building performance. The position offers an excellent opportunity for increased responsibility and professional development in the quickly growing field of sustainable design consulting.

Responsibilities:

  • Charrette facilitation and participation including design collaboration sessions with other owners and their design firms to incorporate the appropriate LEED rating system into the design.
  • LEED/Green analysis of drawings and specifications with comments issued in formal reports.
  • Related supporting calculations, paperwork, reporting, and correspondence with certification agencies such as the USGBC.
  • Meetings with and presentations to clients, designers, and contractors.

Qualifications:

  • Accredited Bachelor of Architecture degree with 5+ years of experience
  • Outstanding communication skills required
  • In depth knowledge of both small scale and large scale building construction.
  • Knowledge of green technologies and LEED rating systems
  • Experience in leading LEED design Charrettes a plus
  • AIA accreditation a plus
  • HVAC knowledge a plus
