Seeking a qualificed green building professional with a concentration in professional and/or mechanical engineering.
Fore Solutions, a premier Green Building Consulting Firm located in the heart of Portland, Maine, is expanding our services to have a broader impact on how buildings are designed, built, and operated.
The firm currently works in areas of Architecture, Green Building, Building Science, Energy Analysis, and Green Building Education on projects throughout Maine, across the country, and around the globe. Consulting Projects range from schools and affordable housing to office buildings, civic buildings and retail.
Specifically, Fore Solutions seeks a technically proficient professional in the Professional and/or Mechanical engineering field with strong management skills and a passion for being a change-agent in the industry. The position is Project Manager and will involve a high level of responsibility in coordination of projects that are both local and across the country. Ideal candidates will be innovative, self-motivated, well organized, possess strong communication skills and a sense of humor!
Qualifications:
* 10 plus years of professional employment in the design and/or construction industry.
* A Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (license preferred), or the equivalent skill level based on years in the business, or notable years of experience in the Construction Industry.
* Strong organizational skills, writing skills, and a track record of good teamwork and client relations.
* Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Autocad, Sketchup, FileMaker Pro/ArchiOffice, Energy Modeling Programs (such as: eQuest, Energy 10, Trace, Trane).
* The candidate is required to be a LEED Accredited Professional (or willing to take exam ASAP) and have an extensive knowledge of green building.
An excellent understanding of whole building design or integrated design is required in addition to a strong knowledge of the core aspects of green building. Demonstrated expertise in two or more of the following areas, in addition to proficiency with mechanical systems involved in building design, is required:
1. Site: Civil Engineering, Landscape design, Landscape materials, Landscape construction;
2. Water: Site water management, Landscape, Rain harvesting, Water efficient fixtures, Biological water treatment;
3. Energy: Commissioning, Energy analysis (Energy modeling, Daylighting modeling, CFD Modeling);
4. Materials: Life Cycle Analysis, How they are manufactured, Specifications, Non-toxic, Code compliance, Construction methods;
5. IEQ: Daylighting, Material toxicity, Indoor air quality, Thermal Comfort;
6. Economics: Life cycle costing, Return on investment, Building performance, First cost, Construction costs, Integrated design
