Position Overview 

We are seeking experienced professionals to join our Portfolio Services Practice to manage and deliver green consulting services to major clients of the firm.

This technically proficient team player is an extremely well organized project manager, possessing the ability to coordinate consulting on multiple projects and manage multiple stakeholders to achieve desired results. Candidates must be technically knowledgeable, highly detailed, and have good delegation and mentoring skills. Excellent client relationship management, big picture thinking and continuous learning skills are highly desired. The ideal candidate will also have excellent oral and written communication skills and enjoy working with diverse project design teams and building owners. Some travel is expected.

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities 

As Project Manager, working in fast-paced environment, you will:

• Manage multiple green building projects and project teams, creating and maintaining work plans

• Coordinate internal teams to produce deliverables that meet client expectations for scope, schedule and budget

• Coordinate with clients to report on issue resolution, progress against project milestones and project status

• Efficiently progress and manage multiple (sometimes conflicting) deliverable schedules

• Conduct technical analysis and quality control reviews of work produced by others (LEED credit

compliance, lighting and ventilation calculations, materials recommendations, etc.)

• Produce LEED design, construction and operations deliverables and documentation

• Complete technical research and report writing and creation of presentations on sustainability topics

• Deliver green building design and construction assistance/ coaching

• Communicate ideas through structured message development and story lines, in multiple media types

• Draw on your multi-tasking ability to support multiple project teams and deliverables on time and on budget

• Report project status for multiple projects against the scope, schedule and budget baselines established by the scope of work and project management plan

• Recognize when the project is deviating from the project plan and collaboratively design solutions that benefit our clients and Paladino

 

Qualifications and Experience

Technical:

• A degree in architecture, engineering, building science or other related field
• 4+ years professional experience with clear career progression and experience in green building, including:

  1. Project management experience in proposal generation, leading project teams, providing client service, and managing to multiple schedules and budgets.
  2. Conceptual and analytical design, strong technical writing skills. 

• Advanced knowledge of high performance building design, construction, operations, and maintenance parameters and familiarity with at least one LEED Rating System 

Direct experience in at least two of the following areas:

 
Site: Landscape and site design, building and landscape integration, landscape materials - experience with master plans and GIS software a plus

Water: Stormwater management and treatment systems, domestic potable and process water use reduction, rain harvest systems, biological treatment systems, water balance modeling

Energy: Building science, concept design for active and passive systems, envelope expertise, ventilation effectiveness, creating sequences of operation for HVAC systems

Materials: Specifications, recycled and non-toxic content, alternative building materials and manufacturing processes, code compliance

Indoor Environmental Quality: Space planning, daylighting, ergonomics, air quality, green materials, human ecology

Economics: Financial measures, first costs, life-cycle costs and return on investment; and monitoring, verification and evaluation of building performance

Project Management

• Demonstrates thorough understanding of the project by deconstructing project goals into a formal project plan with defined, managed, controlled, verified, and communicated deliverables, objectives, assumptions, constraints, and boundaries

• Understands and assigns the right skill set for project/plan tasks

• Demonstrates strong knowledge of monitoring and scheduling techniques and processes to prioritize project implementation; helps teams reprioritize activities to meet deadlines without compromising quality

• Analyzes the cost impact of project changes and delivers solutions to meet budget requirements and margin improvements

• Knows how to ensure the task/project gets to 'done' on time, on budget, while meeting quality commitments

• Can manage multiple, fast-moving projects without sacrificing quality, budget or schedule

• Thinks big picture while maintaining a keen eye for detail

Client Relationship Management

• Uses strong consulting skills to scan for complexity in tasks and projects beyond the obvious

• Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to success of projects

• Develops ideas with strong research skills to support hypotheses

• Strong client service orientation; identifies client pain points and works collaboratively to provide solutions. Demonstrates ability to prepare and deliver oral presentations to individual clients and in training seminars; clearly and effectively communicating complex ideas and other business communications with minimal supervision

• Possesses strong communication skills (verbal and written) and a collaborative, solutions-oriented working style

Team Management

• Experience working with and on team of 10 or more individuals

• Conducts training and mentorship of less experienced peers to increase knowledge and performance levels in others

• Successfully delegates work to peers to meet deadlines and commitments

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

• A sense of humor and a knack for innovation and problem solving

Preferred Qualifications

• LEED Accredited Professional, Project Management Professional (PMP)
