The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization of over 10,000 corporate and organizational members from every sector of the building industry united to transform the building marketplace to sustainability, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to provide high-quality support to its flagship program.
Position Overview:
The LEED Program Assistant will be responsible for customer service inquiries on all products and services of its LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System program and several operational support functions including certification support.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Answer non-technical phone and email inquiries related to LEED and other USGBC initiatives
- Provide administrative support for LEED certifications
- Order award plaques and track inventory for LEED certified projects
- Write narratives for projects awarded certification
- Ship certification plaques, award letters, and certificates to projects
- Manage customer service for non-technical inquiries on LEED products and services including project registration and certification
- Manage project recognition plaques by working with supplier for ordering and personalizing recognition plaques
- Other duties as assigned
- Encourage and accelerate global adoption of green building practices through LEED standards, tools and performance criteria
- Provide timely and efficient support for certification team
- Deliver customer support that is professional, timely and targeted to the customer's needs
- Bachelors degree in a related building industry or environmental discipline preferred
- Strong skills in customer service, writing, organization, and computers (Outlook, Excel (intermediate level), Access, Photoshop (beginners level))
- Ability to work efficiently and multitask
- 1-2 years relevant professional office experience
- Commitment to the USGBC mission
Compensation:
Salary in the $30K's with excellent benefits.
