The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization of over 6,000 corporate and organizational members that is dedicated to promoting environmentally-responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work, currently has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is interested in being part of the growing green building movement by providing support to its Operations department.
Job Overview:
The Operations Administrative Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to executive staff members, the operations department and select committees, including handling calls and email traffic, preparing and distributing documents, scheduling and preparing logistics for meetings and events, preparing travel arrangements, filing and copying... all in a fast-paced office environment.
Candidates should have the ability to work well with a diverse professional staff, take on special projects and work independently.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Provide administrative support for executive staff members, the Operations department, and committees
- Schedule, coordinate logistics, develop agendas and take minutes for meetings and conference calls
- Prepare correspondence, documents, presentations and reports
- Coordinate travel logistics
- Handle telephone messages and correspondence
- Process expense reimbursement requests
- File and maintain records
- Manage staff calendars
- Handle general administrative tasks, special projects and other duties as assigned
- Bachelors degree preferred
- 1-3 years professional office experience
- Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Proactive and customer service-focused attitude
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and computer skills (MS Office)

Compensation:
Salary upper $20k's to low $30k's with excellent benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid premiums on healthcare and employer-matching 401(k) program.
