Background:
The Clean Water Network, a national coalition of over 900 organizations working together to improve federal clean water policy around the country, is looking for an intern to assist CWN staff in our Washington, DC office.
Duties:
Intern responsibilities involve grassroots outreach work and both regulatory and legislative research.
Grassroots outreach responsibilities will include:
- Assist Grassroots Advocacy Coordinator in executing national clean water campaigns
- Work alongside other national environmental organizations in developing work plans and strategy
- Assist in the organization of a national conference addressing drinking water source protection
- Provide logistical support for regional grassroots trainings and meetings
- Contact member organizations to coordinate media releases and action alerts around federal clean water policy issues
Research responsibilities will include:
- Conduct research of various clean water policy areas and develop written summaries for CWN staff
- Update membership lists and databases
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone with excellent research and writing skills, good phone skills, proficiency with Microsoft platforms and web research tools, and a strong commitment to environmental protection.
Spring and summer 2003 internship positions, for 30-40 hours per week, are available. The internship is unpaid. More information on the Clean Water Network is available on our website.
