Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the MIT-Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSE) is dedicated to serving the research needs of the sustainable energy industry by helping established industry players and newcomers alike move clean energy technologies from the laboratory to the production line.

Position Overview: 

The MIT-Fraunhofer Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (CSE) is looking for an experienced grant writer to develop and shepherd proposals for its activities in the areas of solar module testing and innovation, building efficiency research, and energy device prototyping. This will be an opportunity to play a pivotal role in sourcing funding for clean technology development at one of the world's leading research groups.

Responsibilities:

The grant coordinator will:

  • Research and identify potential sources of funding for the center.
  • Coordinate with center management and researchers to write, prepare, assemble, and submit proposals for state, federal, foundation, and corporate grants.
  • Provide expertise and advice on grant writing procedures and requirements to center personnel as needed.
  • Deliver regular and timely project status updates to both donors and center management.
  • Review and report revenues and expenditure for federal grant projects.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

  • Experience researching and completing proposals in the energy sector.
  • A proven history of funded proposals.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • An uncompromising attention to detail.
  • A high level of self-initiative; ability to work independently and in a group.

Experience working with the Department of Energy and NREL is a plus. German language skills are also highly valued.
