Description

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting people and communities by creating a nationwide network of public trails, from former rail lines and connecting corridors.

The GIS Specialist serves as the technical liaison for Rails-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) trails database (Oracle platform); is responsible for populating and managing RTC's geodatabase; oversees the interface between these two databases; trains staff to use these databases, and provides map-making and report services for various projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Geography, Urban Planning,Engineeringor Computer Science and 2 years work experiencewithdirect experience usingGIS.Knowledge of spatial analysis techniques.Experience in ESRI software including ArcGIS 8 or 9, Arc Editor, verifiable ability to produce publication-quality maps.Experience with data stored in Oracle, ARCSDE, and ARCIMS.
