ERM Certification and Verification Services (ERM CVS), the independent global certification and verification body of the worldwide ERM Group, has a dynamic career opportunity for a GHG Auditor in the United States. With substantial experience in the oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, automotive, metals, electronics, manufacturing, health care, and power generation sectors,

ERM CVS delivers corporate and facility-level inventory verification and GHG emissions reduction project validation/verification across a range of voluntary and compliance schemes.

A significant proportion of ERM CVS's GHG work relates to CDM services. However, this role provides the opportunity to play an important part in our rapidly growing global climate change business.

Responsibilities:

  • Proposal development
  • Corporate and facility level GHG inventory report verification
  • Emission reduction project validation and verification
  • Collecting, managing and analyzing quantitative information
  • Field work and site visits
  • Preparing deliverables and presenting findings to clients and other relevant stakeholders

Reports to: ERM GHG Business Manager, North America

Qualifications:

Knowledge:

  • Degree in Engineering, Math, Enviromental Science, Policy, Law Business or the Physical Sciences
  • Knowledge of GHG accounting best practices
  • Understanding of the role of the Designated Operational Entity and the functions performed 

Skills:

  • ARB, MassDEP, and/or CAR-accredited lead verifier  
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player with a high degree of self motivation

Experience:

3-5 years' experience and expertise in any of the following areas:

  • Greenhouse gas inventory protocols;   
  • Corporate greenhouse gas reduction strategies; 
  • Domestic and international carbon markets; 
  • Regional, state, federal greenhouse gas reduction initiatives;
  • Emerging National legislation

The candidate will most likely have gained experience within a verification/verification setting, a CDM project developer/investor or a consulting organisation.
