Position Overview
Sunworks is seeking an experienced full-time construction General Superintendent for our Residential Operations. This position will provide on-site coordination of all phases of commercial solar construction projects.
Essential Functions
- Provide leadership to residential teams by travels to divisions and jobsites regularly to review work and recommend processes and best practices across the teams.
- Review project budgets and assist in planning and controlling all aspects of residential, multi family and small commercial projects costs.
- Review Project plans and assist in creation of schedule and completion deadlines.
- Providing leadership and management the timely completion of residential and multi family projects.
- Working with scheduling department to effectively and efficiently distribute labor out to jobs by region, provide budgets and track travel time, travel expense and drive time to a project.
- Work with Regional Operations Manager to determine hiring needs, potential layoffs and need for crew travel for current and forecasted work.
- Work with Permit team to ensure that projects are constructed in strict adherence with approved plans, building/electrical codes, specifications, and local AHJ requirements.
- Managing subcontractors and ensure completion of their work within established time frames and to the quality that Sunworks holds to standard.
- Communicate regarding conflicts or revisions needed to original project plans to the project team to ensure resolution, prior to execution of any work that deviates from approved the plans.
- Establishes and enforces job site quality control programs to ensure quality.
- Provide efficient and effective direction and problem resolution with employees, subcontractors and vendors.
- Reviews and develops SOP’s and processes for crews and materials to provide to new hires when onboarding.
- Understands and enforces jobsite rules.
- Ensures all required reports and/or paperwork (including pictures) are completed accurately and timely; including foreman daily reporting and labor capacity tracking.
- Responsible for ensuring and validating employees are trained to appropriately perform their jobs adequately and safely.
- Tracks productivity and labor capacity of employees and subcontractors.
- Routinely travels to division and jobsite locations to review work and recommend processes and best practices across the teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ Years of experience as a Superintendent in an electrical/construction related industry; HS Diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred), or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience to demonstrate the ability to successfully meet expectations.
- Adept at reading and understanding project plans.
- Ability to build rapport and interact effectively with personnel at all levels within the Company and with vendors and business partners outside the Company.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to identify deficient work and provide appropriate / timely resolution.
- Experience with utilizing and monitoring basic office equipment such PC, fax and copy machines.
- Excellent collaboration skills, including the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively and efficiently with a variety of internal team members in a construction type environment.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to successfully pass an in-depth background investigation and drug screen.
