The Edwards Aquifer Authority is seeking qualified individuals interested in being considered for the position of General Manager for the Authority.
The Edwards Aquifer Authority manages, enhances, and protects the Edwards Aquifer, one of the major groundwater systems in Texas serving approximately 1.7 million people.
Position Overview:
The General Manager reports directly to a Board of Directors and is responsible for the overall management and operations of the Edwards Aquifer Authority that includes 81 employees and an annual operating budget of approximately $14.3 million plus an additional $15.2 million related to the funding and administration of the Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP).
Qualifications:
Position requires a Master's degree in public and/or busines administration, engineering, natural resources management or a closely related field plus 10 years as a General Manager, Deputy General Manager or Assistant General Manager of an entity dealing with surface water, groundwater, or a related resource field; a thorough understanding of groundwater management or related water resources field; strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to provide strong management and leadership skills, and exercise decision-making skills; experience in planning, budgeting and supervising a professional staff; ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and responsibility.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate and based on experience.
