Garden Educator/Science Teacher

The Camden Children's Garden is designed for children and families. It is a special place to explore and discover the natural world. The four-acre garden provides horticultural experiences for creative and imaginative play.

Responsibilities:

• Assists the Camden Children's Garden with carrying out the educational mission related to both on and off site classes, distance learning lessons via video conferencing, family festivals, and scouting activities.
• Major responsibilities involve conducting Distance Learning lessons broadcast from the Garden to school children. Schedules and bills for all educational activities conducted at the Camden Children's Garden.

Other responsibilities:

• Assists in the development and implementation of the educational activities for the Garden's Family Festivals,
• Assists in the development and implementation of the educational activities for the Garden's scouting activities,
• Assists with the development and production of all educational materials,
• Assists in the training of Garden volunteers and Summer Youth, special events, helps supervise summer youth and volunteers,
• Assists in the development and implementation of the annual fundraiser,
• Assists with related efforts and other duties as determined by the Director.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in science education, horticulture, biology, environmental education or a related field, and 1-2 years of work experience.
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, computer and organizational skills. Must be able to work well with a variety of people and in a variety of situations.

Compensation: The full-time position is hourly, 28 hours per week.
