AFT is a national organization dedicated to saving farmland and keeping it productive and healthy.
American Farmland Trust's Development Department is seeking a full-time (or alternatively a part-time) intern for the summer (beginning and ending dates flexible).
While at AFT, the intern will have the ability to work on projects for the entire department and will learn about multiple facets of non-profit fundraising from events to individual and corporate fundraising to foundation grant writing, etc.
This position will include helping to prepare proposals, reports, budgets, acknowledgements and other correspondence as needed for prospective and current foundations.
The position is highly administrative as most fundraising is...helping behind-the-scenes to cultivate relationships with our funders. Other aspects of the work will include identifying and researching prospective donors; mailings; filing; and mining the web for relevant statstics/news articles/etc. Responsibilities will be based on performance.
Compensation: Will be based on experience, the number of hours worked and the length of the internship (ranging from $350-$1,500). We can also provide you with college-credit.
Qualifications: Organized, self-motivated, flexible college junior or senior interested in non-profits, fundraising, land conservation, and/or the environment. Attention to detail is very important, no matter what the task.
