EcoVentures International (EVI) envisions a world of sustainable communities and sustainable livelihoods. Our vision is born out of the recognition that economic, social, environmental, and generational sustainability rely upon each other. Our mission is to inspire, connect, mentor, and train community members -especially youth- to develop as socially and environmentally committed entrepreneurs, and ambassadors of sustainable development.
EVI has an opening for a Fundraising Intern to support our development strategy. Major responsibilities include:
o Writing grant proposals, reports and updates;
o Planning and facilitating fundraising events and campaigns;
o Coordinating correspondence with donors, including newsletter distribution and thank-you letters;
o Maintaining the donor database and overseeing the data entry process;
o Researching new funding sources, donor campaigns, corporate sponsors and foundation grants
Qualifications:
- Some fundraising experience and familiarity with non-profit management
- Experience with donor database management, Exceed Basic preferred
- Knowledge of SalesForce a plus. Excellent writing and communication skills
- Experience writing grant proposals
- Highly organized and detail oriented
-- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and successfully meet multiple deadlines
-- Initiative, enthusiasm, drive, and curiosity
-- Ability to work effectively, both independently and on a team
-- Interest in innovative and sustainable development work and environmental entrepreneurship
-- Management skills a plus.
Commitment: A minimum of 20 hours weekly commitment from August to December 2007. (full time commitment preferred) This is an unpaid internship. Position open until filled.
