Description
The Foundation Grants Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and expansion of LTA's active foundation/government/corporate program, with a primary focus on extensive, deadline-driven proposal writing for grants (generally grants ranging from $5,000 to $1,000,000).
We are now undertaking major new fundraising initiatives to support a much higher level of programs, as envisioned by LTA's recently completed 5-year plan. The Manager must be able to work closely with a variety of program staff to find appropriate matches between LTA national and regional programs and funders' priorities.
Responsibilities:
The Manager will administer the scheduling and administrative aspects of the program, work closely with one full-time Grants Writer to edit and draft proposals and reports, and explore project funding prospects.
Other responsibilities include
-researching new foundation leads,
-cultivating foundation program staff,
-developing foundation revenue/expense projections and updating these projections monthly;
-devising creative approaches to prospective funders; and
-participating in the planning of donor events.
Qualifications:
Five years demonstrated track record in successful grants writing and management, research and foundation cultivation or equivalent experience.
Highly motivated, creative thinker and strategist, and goal-oriented.
Exhibit excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to interpret and package ideas in a clear and persuasive manner.
Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and tight timelines with humor and grace.
Good supervisory skills.
The ability to work in a collaborative and positive manner with colleagues and funders.
An understanding of and commitment to conservation and environmental stewardship.
