Description
For employment and a potential long-term business opportunity among a
progressive, worker-run, farm cooperative, send resume and/or proposal for
the position of:
***FIELD SPECIALIST***
Job duties:
Plowing, Cultivating, Seeding, Hay (Cut & Bale), Manure Spreading
(Liquid & Solid), Compost Turning and Snowblowing.
Daily Work:
Morning & Evening barn chores
6:30AM-8:30AM & 6?8PM: -feed cows, calves, pigs, chickens, heifers. Work varies, but after chores in evenings are off, as are Sundays, for
relaxation.
Maintenance:
*
Farm Machinery oil changes & greasing, necessary welding, & handiwork.
*General farm upkeep, as needs arise, & supporting farm projects.
*Regular cleaning & organizing of Machine Shed & Workshop.
Paper Work:
*
Budgeting for new Equipment & Tool Purchases.
*
Setting appropriate use policies for common-use areas & machinery.
Requirements:
*
Readiness to explore diversified growing, and intercrop practices.
*
Enthusiasm for agroforestry, & other alternative farming systems.
Important:
Experience with animals, farming, machinery, crops, and co-ops.

Circle Sun Farm is a diversified dairy operation shipping milk to the
Organic Meadow's dairy pool of the Ontarbio Organic Farmers' Cooperative.
The milk cheque provides an opportunity to lead a sustainable lifestyle, while
supporting other projects of interest to individual full-time
worker/owners.
The position of Field Worker is entitled to room and board for the length
of time during which the relationship between current Coop members, the
farm's Land Trust Board, and the Field Specialist are assessed. Wage is
negotiated, based on experience.
