Description
This person will be responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of photovoltaic solar systems. This may involve the removal and replacement of equipment, printed circuit control cards, control transformers, fuses and wiring. Additional functions include on-site observation of system operation after system repair, task scheduling and coordination along with reporting and completion of work-orders.
One position is based from Sacramento, Calif. and one in Hawaii. Site locations may change at any given time, based on work volume and logistics.
Responsibilities:
* Provide scheduling for all repair work-orders
* Provide coordination of materials and manpower to complete each work-order on schedule.
* Provides Site inspections and walk-throughs.
* Adapts work and schedules to meet company expectations.
* Participation in administering Safety Program, execution of safety Policy and maintenance of safety records. Monitors and reviews Service Department safety compliance.
* Tracks work hours and verifies hours per job for the Service Department's Field Office.
* Critical thinking and active listening skills required
* Maintain records of Field Office tools, test equipment, vehicles and system repair supplies.
* Creating reports concerned with the operation of the District Field Service Office.
* Performs other related duties as required or as assigned.
Qualifications:
* 5 years work experience, solid knowledge of Photovoltaic solar construction and installation and repair. Familiar with use of hand tools and electrical/electronic test equipment. College degree in engineering a plus.
* Capable of managing multiple projects.
* Good leadership skills, communication skills and the ability to work well with people are essential.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft's Office Suite.
Travel by automobile in conducting business is necessary. Ability to communicate well with customers, management, and other co-workers, both individually and in groups. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Some heavy lifting is expected. Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of technical problems. The job is performed mainly outdoors.
