SMA America is recruiting a team of field service engineers to work on our new family of Sunny Central inverters, based at our new facility in Rocklin, CA.
Responsibilities:
The Field Service Engineers will commission, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and analyze SMA America's commercial inverters in the field. Troubleshooting and customer support will usually be initiated and conducted by e-mail or telephone, until a site visit is necessitated. The Field Service Engineer will develop a detailed knowledge of SMA's commercial inverter products and associated SMA and third party products that are sold by SMA, for use with the inverters.
The Field Service Engineer will know, or learn, the National Electric Code. He/she will work with high voltage DC electricity, three phase power and the relevant software and firmware of the inverters. Travel is required, primarily within the USA, sometimes with short notice. The Field Service Engineer is responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction while striving to lower the costs of field service.
Qualifications:
- Must have a 4 year technical degree plus at least 3 years of relevant work experience in the areas of electrical, electronic and network communications devices.
- Must have articulate communication skills. He/she will be required to write customer visit reports and be able to communicate with all levels of customers on business and technical subjects.
- Must have good computer skills, experience with email and the internet and be familiar with Microsoft Office products.
- Must have a strong interest in the future success of alternative energy.
