(PECI) is an energy efficiency consulting agency that designs and implements energy efficiency programs and research for utility companies and governmental agencies.  Founded in 1980 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon, PECI has a longstanding tradition of pairing innovation with practicality to deliver customized energy solutions in building commissioning, retrocommissioning, and new construction with focus on HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, and appliances. 

Position Overview:

PECI seeks a Portland area field-based Field Energy Analyst who will support our contract administering Energy Trust of Oregon's New Buildings Program.  Field Energy Analysts work with developers, owners, designers, and contractors to drive efficiency and sustainable design in new construction and major renovation projects in Oregon.

Preferred candidates will have familiarity with new construction and green building practices and technical knowledge of central plants, HVAC equipment, and lighting systems.  They must also have a successful track record of working independently, proactively developing client relationships, and meeting business objectives.  Field Energy Analysts are also accountable for achieving specific energy efficiency goals and program goals.  This position has an established territory with a well-developed pipeline; so, the ideal candidate will be a fast learner and self-starter.

This position will work from a home office with weekly meetings in PECI's Portland office and will coordinate with remote and office-based team members. The position requires some travel throughout a defined territory in Oregon.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively develop, manage and expand relationships in the new construction market with project owners and developers, architectural and engineering firms, and contractors; and influence them to seek energy efficiency solutions for their projects through Energy Trust incentives
  • Facilitate and track multiple projects, using project management skills to lead external project participants through enrollment, project consultation, and close-out phases; and coordinate with internal operations and engineering teams
  • Provide technical consultation on program offerings and incentives
  • Develop creative ways to achieve program objectives and scope relevant tasks or marketing campaigns
  • Organize and conduct project meetings and site verification visits upon project completion
  • Work with the program team to manage incentive application paperwork and other project documentation in a timely fashion

Qualifications:

  • Consultative sales background with a proven track-record required
  • Experience promoting energy efficiency measures in a business setting strongly preferred
  • Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to a variety of audiences
  • Established network of developers and/or contractors preferred
  • Knowledge of new construction and/or green building practices, familiarity with LEED is a plus
  • Experience working with Healthcare and/or Government projects preferred
  • Experience working with energy efficiency rebate and incentive programs
  • Technical background such as a mechanical or electrical engineering education/experience is a plus
  • Passion for learning

  • CRM experience (specifically, Salesforce.com)
