Position Overview:  

PECI seeks a technical consultant ("Field Energy Analyst") to work with business owners to promote energy efficiency retrofits. The Field Energy Analyst will manage a large contact base and have primary responsibility for improving energy efficiency at client sites.

The Field Energy Analyst will work from a home office, coordinate with remote and office based team members and travel throughout a defined territory in Southern California (in or near San Diego).

Make an impact: last year this PECI team helped business owners reduce energy use, thus avoiding the burning of more than 20 million pounds of coal.

Responsibilities:

The Field Energy Analyst (FEA) motivates, advises and enables grocers to implement significant energy savings projects. FEAs are accountable to achieving specific energy efficiency goals. This position:

  • Audits commercial facilities (incl. grocery, restaurants, hospitals, hotels)
  • Prepares and presents reports for owners
  • Proactively develops, manages and expands customer and vendor relationships
  • Develops creative ways to achieve program objectives and scopes relevant tasks
  • Works with a remote team to manage the incentives paperwork process in order to ensure timely payment
  • Facilitates and tracks energy efficiency projects, including coordinating with numerous project players, working with utility representatives and performing project management
  • Provides technical consultation for business owners and key decision makers

Qualifications:

Candidates must be able to work independently, prioritize multiple demands and proactively develop client relationships.  Canidates should have:

  • High energy and persuasive nature
  • Strong technical background in refrigeration, lighting, food service equipment and/or controls
  • Consultative approach: proven ability to understand and meet customer needs
  • Field experience conducting energy audits
  • Business acumen: familiarity with core business metrics (ROI, margins, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication; ability to present to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Windows-based software experience including word processing, spreadsheet, and Access applications
