Position Overview
Our client is an exciting, fast-growing company that designs and delivers integrated renewable energy projects to deliver the right mix of renewable energy for industrial, commercial and municipal clients.
They are seeking an Executive Vice President Business Development to provide strong leadership for the EVP Business Development team.
The Company's offering attracts C&I and MUSH customers with a defined commitment to sustainability helping them achieve significant energy cost reductions with optimal multi-technology renewable power generation, primarily solar and cogeneration.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
- The successful candidate will be responsible to drive the achievement of revenue growth objectives by developing and implementing a strategic business plan, lead the business development team to deliver financial results that will grow, and expand the business.
- Energize the team in building sales with the skill of leading by example, inspiring confidence, trust and respect in others.
- Responsible for P&L, understanding of financing, pricing and proposal models.
- Accountable for strategic management and tactical oversight.
- Develops continuous improvement methodology in key areas of service profit and growth, and utilizes key performance indicators to drive and quantify cost optimization while maintaining quality service and customer satisfaction.
- Identifies and supports evaluation of growth opportunities through mergers and acquisitions.
- Manages resources to ensure financial objectives are met and resolves complex problems that have implications beyond the executive's own area.
- Manages client service functions, including development, sales and post-sales support activities.
- Adheres to company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within a highly motivated team.
Qualifications
Desired Skills and Experience
- Successful track record of leading a team selling large, complex multi-technology renewable energy projects which involve integrated facilities management services at multiple sites, involving multiple decision makers.
- Strong leader who exceeds performance objectives and exhibits proven leadership with developed business acumen as well as a "relationship builder."
- Strong business contacts and relationships in the energy markets.
- Strategic and execution skill set demonstrated by past experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication, negotiation and training skills.
- Ability to energize a sales team in building sales with the skill of leading by example, inspiring confidence, trust and respect in others.
- Entrepreneurial skill set and experience building a company in the fast growth early stage.
- The capability to travel up to 50-60% of the time
- Report directly to the CEO and serve as a key member of the senior management team.
- P& L management experience in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment preferred.
- Brings relevant, established relationships and strategic sales prospects.
- Familiarity with a diversity of energy technologies, solar, CHP cogeneration, biogas, landfill gas and energy storage.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
Professional Experience:
- 15 plus years sales or business development experience.
- Strategic account management expertise preferable.
- Renewable energy sales and client development experience required.
