The Jackson Hole Energy Sustainability Project (JHESP), begun in 2009 under the leadership of Mark Barron, Mayor of the Town of Jackson, Wyoming, represents 3 elected bodies in the community - the Town of Jackson, Teton County, and Lower Valley Energy - our local energy cooperative.
The JHESP Steering Committee is charged with overseeing cost-effective energy/resource conservation; renewable energy generation; energy efficiency building retrofits; community organizations focusing on reduced greenhouse gas emissions; and policy development for building infrastructure codes focusing on energy efficiency-all with the overarching goal of keeping energy costs as low as possible and saving money for the community.
Position Overview:
The JHESP Steering Committee is seeking a qualified director to manage and execute the project goals and objectives of transforming the Jackson Hole Community into a leader in energy efficiency and energy innovation. The Executive Director is a contract position that reports to the Chairman of the JHESP.
Major responsibilities include project management and implementation, communication and engagement, financial analysis and reporting, coordination of JHESP Steering Committee, and coordination of the Friends of the JHESP.
Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience providing the necessary skills and abilities is qualifying. Typical qualifications include bachelor's degree (Masters Degree preferred) in a relevant field such as communication, public administration, business administration/management, finance, or environmental policy and 4 years experience with increasing responsibilities in sustainable programs, project management, program coordination, government operations, cultural change initiatives, or public outreach.
Ideal candidate will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, community engagement and outreach experience, experience in program management, budgeting, collaborative relationship building, and knowledge and experience in public policy process and political dynamics.
Compensation: $65,000 - $88,000 DOQ
