The Board of Directors of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) is hiring an independent contractor to serve as Executive Director of ISI to get the organization "off the ground" and market membership participation and support.
ISI is a start-up non-profit organized through the combined efforts of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the American Public Works Association (APWA). ISI is a membership organization and will be financed primarily through membership fees and dues.
The organization will develop a rating system for sustainable infrastructure that can be used by public and private infrastructure owners to guide the design process and operations. ISI will also certify professionals and firms in the use of the rating system, verify projects, award project certificates of achievement, and undertake related activities.
Position Overview:
The Executive Director will be ISI's first contract position; additional staff will be added only if sufficient revenues are generated. The position reports to the Board of Directors, made up of appointees from ACEC, ASCE, and APWA.
Significant travel involved; renewable contractor agreement, in low $100,000 range with substantial incentives in addition to base amount, depending upon reaching revenue targets. Job location is in downtown Washington, DC.
