Description
Maine Farmland Trust, a statewide land trust devoted to preserving Maine's working farms and agricultural soils, is seeking a full-time executive director.
Job Description:
The Executive Director is responsible to the Board of Directors for administration of all programs and activities, including overseeing staff, implementing land protection projects, orchestrating landowner outreach and public relations, coordinating membership development and fundraising (including grant writing & special events), managing the Trusts financial affairs, and ensuring compliance with all required legal, tax and administrative filings.
The Executive Director assists with Board committee functions, and works with the Board to set goals and strategies, and to build connections throughout the state with farmers, farm groups, conservation organizations, municipalities and state agencies.
Job Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be experienced in non-profit organization management and fundraising, will have knowledge of land trust operations and will have the ability to lead, inspire and empower staff and board to achieve Maine Farmland Trusts ambitious goals.
Salary and Benefits:
$35,000 - $50,000, plus a benefit stipend. Higher salary is negotiable, based upon extensive experience.
Location:
Presently in Bucksport, Maine (office may be moved).
