Now actively recruiting an Executive Director, Friends of the River is an experienced, respected, statewide river advocacy group that seeks strong leadership to pursue a new and bolder vision: to change the way people think of rivers in California, from a resource to be exploited to a treasure to be cherished and protected.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in organizational leadership, program development, staff management, major donor/foundation cultivation, and financial oversight, as well as a strong passion for preserving and restoring California's rivers.
With a dedicated staff of 11 from our Sacramento office, and backed by an experienced board of directors and more than 5,700 members, the Executive Director will have a unique opportunity to lead this organization towards a more innovative, effective future.
