Description

Background:

SolarFest, Inc. seeks a talented and enthusiastic individual to direct our growing,
nonprofit organization. One of our primary programs is an annual two-day
renewable energy and music energy festival, held for the last eight years in
Middletown Springs, Vermont.

We seek a new site for 2003 to host our
expanding event. Our long-term goal is to develop other renewable energy
programs as outlined in our strategic plan. Lots of room for creativity to achieve
our educational mission.

Founded in 1995, SolarFest's mission is to inspire people to use less, practice
resource conservation and use renewable energy. In response to the
unsustainable consumption of the world's limited resources, SolarFest
educates the people of Vermont and New England about sustainable
alternatives to society's current practices, and by demonstrating the
viability of renewable energy.

SolarFest blends the arts and education to
engage the public on these critical issues. SolarFests New England
Renewable Energy Festival is the largest of its kind in the region. Voted one of
the Top Ten Summer Events by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce in 2002,
we are seeking to expand our event in 2003 to a larger site in Vermont.

Duties:

Event coordination, festival oversight, marketing and promotion, guide
educational programs, donor and corporate sponsor relations, annual campaign
coordination, database and donor tracking, grant writing, work with Board of
Trustees on management and strategic planning, manage office and small staff,
volunteer coordination.

Qualifications:

Three to five years of experience with nonprofit organizations and management
and/or event coordination.

Marketing and promotion. Proven skill in fundraising,
annual campaigns and grantwriting.

Excellent communication and computer skills.

Passion for and knowledge of renewable energy issues and educational programs
to achieve mission and goals. Planning and budgeting.

Good sense of humor.

position.
