LocalMotion, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization seeks an Executive Director to lead the organization in its mission of raising public awareness of the links between environmental toxins and negative health consequences, including cancer. Founded in 1999, LocalMotion is based in and serves the greater Detroit, Michigan area.
The executive director will manage a one- to two-person staff, and will be responsible for initiating, developing, and implementing programs to further the organization?s mission. In addition, the executive director will take a lead role in informational and educational community presentations, will serve as the organization?s media spokesperson, and will head fund-raising efforts. Periodic reporting to the Board of Directors, developing strategic plans in collaboration with the Board, and regular and frequent interaction with the Board Chairperson would be expected.
Experience in the non-profit world, strong communications skills, a strong interest in environmental issues, and the ability to interact well with people are requirements.
