Position Overview:

GT Advanced technologies is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician.

Responsibilities:

• Perform repair, maintenance and improvement of manufacturing equipment and tools, analytical tools, utilities and support systems
• Document service records, procedural instructions, resources consumed, supplies, time and machine status
• Write service and maintenance procedures and identify appropriate spare parts
• May make recommendations to engineering team regarding design and process improvements
• May work with operators for the purpose of diagnosing machine problems or to train in new processes and procedures.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and maintain a safe work area
• Maintain a clean, neat and organized work area
• Execute assigned projects as instructed and within allocated time
• Maintain organized spare parts area, keep an accurate inventory and recommend reorder
• Must be able to prioritize and balance workload to achieve a high level of personal productivity
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experienced in the installation and setup of complex Process equipment and Machine tools
• Experienced in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of numerically controlled process equipment and automated machine tools
• Familiar with computer controlled automation systems and electro-mechanical devices
• Demonstrated competencies in repair of complex mechanical systems including drives, pumps, precision bearing systems, high pressure fluid piping systems and gas systems
• Thorough understanding of the use and care of special hand and power tools
• Familiar with the setup and operation of machine shop tools; lathe, milling machine, drill press, band saw, etc.
• Basic knowledge of engineering theories, principles and practices related to design, testing, assembly, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Ability to understand, work from and in some cases create blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings. May provide input and make recommendations to engineering and management staff regarding design changes or improvements
• At least 10 years' experience in a technical field or a minimum of 6 years as an equipment maintenance technician in highly technical manufacturing environment
• Availability to work evening and week-end schedules when required
• Basic working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and email systems
• Efficient time management and multitasking skills to successfully complete a variety of job duties on time and within budget parameters
• Ability to lift at least 60 pounds, climb stairs, ladders and stand for long periods of time
• Graduate of an accredited Technical School or equivalent is required
