~ We are a San Diego-based biodiesel production company whose goal is to provide Southern California communities with an environmentally sound vehicle fuel source, produced from renewable or recycled resources, and grown and manufactured in the United States. ~

We're committed to inspiring global transformation by promoting healthy growth & sustainability within our community by partnering with local restaurants to produce premium biodiesel from recycled cooking oil & supplying this renewable fuel throughout the region. We produce and sell high-quality biodiesel, which can fuel diesel vehicles with little or no conversion. 

Position Overview 

We have an immediate opening at San Diego biodiesel refinery for a FULL TIME maintenance team member. The maintenance tech position works independently and with other plant personnel to ensure uninterrupted mechanical and electrical operation of biodiesel refinery. This is a dirty fast paced job in an exciting new industry with potential for advancement.


Responsibilities
 

  • Inspect machinery or equipment to determine adjustments or repairs needed
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the plant's production and facility equipment
  • Help create preventative maintenance schedules
  • Help create Standard Operating Procedures for mechanical equipment  

Qualifications 

  • Three to Five years in fluid process Maintenance or related industry
  • Working knowledge of Mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to follow electrical code, equipment manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications as required
  • OSHA Training
  • Knowledgeable of power, water distribution
  • Working understanding and ability to read blue prints
  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Post-Secondary Certificate - awarded for training completed after high school
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organizational Skills
  • Welding a plus 

Physical Demands: 

  • Sufficient physical ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 60lbs); standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; climbing stairs or ladders, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and operating motorized equipment 

Work Environment: 

  • Employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
  • The employee is regularly exposed to high noise environments
  • The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather in all conditions
  • The employee will regularly be exposed to chemicals used in the process
  • Ability to wear protective equipment on the head, hands, face, feet  

Compensation: $20 - 25/hour, depending on experience.
