Position Overview

Covanta is seeking candidates to fill the position of Environmental Supervisor at our HPOWER EfW Facility in Honolulu/ Kapolei , Hawaii

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day activities, of the Environmental Compliance Specialist, through goal setting and performance tracking.
  • Investigates and resolves potential compliance issues, questions, or complaints received from within the company, customers, client, regulatory agencies, and/or the public.
  • Ensures all environmental sampling, monitoring, reporting, permit renewals, and record retention is successfully completed. Ensures compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures.
  • Reviews and analyzes the continuous emission monitoring systems data, agency report preparation, and submittals.
  • Ensures all plant modifications receive appropriate permitting approval in a timely manner and all plant/system changes are accurately managed.
  • Prepares and verifies all documents, records, permits, and other environmental data required by the federal, state, and local agencies are submitted to regulatory agencies, maintained, and provided as requested.

Position Requirements

  • The successful candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of environmental regulatory programs relating to air quality, water systems, and solid waste.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, coupled with five years of relevant experience, is also required.
  • Must have excellent verbal communication and writing skills, along with strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Able to interact professionally, and effectively, with the Client, external vendors, and employees.
  • Manage multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy, establish trust and relationships.
