Environmental Scientist, Due Diligence/Compliance Consultant

Position Overview 

Strata is seeking a motivated Environmental Due Diligence / Compliance Consultant, who is interested in participating on a variety of environmental projects. In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers on due diligence transaction and environmental regulatory compliance projects.

Responsibilities 

• Perform environmental due diligence studies for industrial / commercial transactions consistent with ASTM Phase I standards, and broad-based compliance assessments at industrial and commercial facilities.
• Prepare concise reports that assess potential environmental liability risks and regulatory compliance at commercial / industrial facilities. Identify corrective actions for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Provide timely consulting advice to industry and legal clients to help manage business risk and maximize transaction value. Work with clients to find solutions to transaction-driven environmental issues, including environmental regulatory compliance, social impact, remediation, and liability cost estimating.
• Support the development of environmental regulatory compliance and management system programs. Help prepare plans, permits, and reports for hazardous waste, air quality, storm water, NPDES, and wastewater programs. Help design and implement Phase II site assessments, including field work and sampling activities.
• Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule and ensure quality standards on project deliverables. Support Strata Project Managers to effectively manage projects and meet client expectations. 

Qualifications  

Skills, Experience & Requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related discipline.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in environmental consulting, working on environmental due diligence projects.
• Solid knowledge of ASTM Phase I standards, understanding of core business and legal concepts of business transactions, and continued interest in working on transactions.
• Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet expedited deadlines, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Local candidates preferred.
