Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI) is a 75+-person environmental consulting firm in Gainesville, Virginia, that specializes in water, natural and cultural resource issues in Northern VA.
Position Overview:
WSSI has an opening for an entry-level environmental scientist with 0 to 3 years of experience in one or more of the following fields as well as general natural history knowledge/interest:
- Wetland delineation,
- Field Botany,
- Hydric Soils,
- Endangered and Threatened Species (ETS) surveys (including mussel, submerged aquatic vegetation and wood turtle),
- Aquatic Macroinvertebrate sampling and identification,
- Preparing federal and state permit applications relating to aquatic resources
Qualifications:
Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors a plus. WPIT certification and/or taxonomic certification in macroinvertebrate identification to genus level is a plus.
