Skyline College opened in 1969, and we are one of three community colleges in the San Mateo County Community College District.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation building performance academic program for under government funded grant opportunities
- Develop curriculum for building performance retrofit technician, building performance home auditing, and energy efficiency financing, customer service and sales
- Work closely with industry partners to develop curriculum and integrate professional development opportunities for classes
- Lead acquisition of instructional equipment
- Consult with college grant management staff and workforce investment to support student recruitment, participation and job placement
- Work with state and national certification organizations to obtain accreditation for academic program
- Work with community college partners to develop common programs
- Teach courses offered in the Energy Efficiency curriculum
- Consult with students during regularly scheduled office and lab hours
- Maintain expertise in current practice and technologies
- Perform other professional duties as required by contract and general institutional needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree AND 2 years of Energy Efficiency and Building Performance experience OR Associate degree and 6 years of Energy Efficiency and Building Performance experience.
- Certification in BPI, HERS, or equivalent
- Extensive knowledge of building energy efficiency fundamental principles, retrofit techniques, assessment methods, financing options, and policy trends.
- Ability to communicate effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
