The University of San Francisco is a Jesuit Catholic University founded in 1855 to educate leaders who will fashion a more humane and just world.

Position Overview: 

They are currently hiring for a part-time Environmental Science Instructor position. The Environmental Science Instructor-Adjunct will teach one lecture section and one lab section of ENVS 110, Understanding Our Environment, during the Fall 2009 semester. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lecture meets Tuesday and Thursday 10:30am-11:45am.
  • Lab meets Tuesdays 5:00pm-7:45pm.
  • There is also one Saturday all-day field trip.
  • Classes begin Tuesday, August 25th.

In addition to teaching the lecture and lab and attending the field trip, the Instructor should:

  • Hold office hours (3 hours/week).
  • Meet weekly with other lab instructors to discuss experiments and grading of labs.
  • Turn in lab grades to other lecture instructors in a timely manner.  

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a field related to environmental science by August 2009. Teaching experience is desirable.
