Henderson Land Services is a design-build environmental consulting firm specializing in water-resource design and restoration efforts throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Position Overview:

Henderson Land Services has an opening for an Environmental Project Manager to work in our Lake Oswego, Oregon office. Successful candidate will manage environmental efforts with emphasis on field implementation of design in aquatic environments.

We are seeking a degreed candidate in an applicable field (hydraulic or environmental engineering, soils/geology, stream ecology) with a minimum of 3 years green-engineering or field restoration experience. Work experience must include principles or stream and wetland ecology, hydrology, restoration project construction practices, current knowledge of Pacific Northwest stream and wetland habitat restoration design goals and objectives, current knowledge of natural resource regulatory permitting and project monitoring protocols, experience working with and directing construction excavation equipment operators, and experience with current erosion and sediment control practices and regulations.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking candidates that have proven experience in managing water resource restoration enhancement and mitigation projects including planning, regulatory compliance, design, construction, and post-construction compliance monitoring. Candidates must demonstrate successful completion of field restoration efforts within contracted timeframes and budgets. Candidates must demonstrate capability to manage project activities within professional teams that include other consultants, governmental agencies, construction contractors. Candidates will coordinate project invoicing and payments.

Construction Field Work:

General aquatic mitigation/restoration construction project management, excavation grade checking, Large Woody Debris habitat structure installations, stream restoration channel reconstruction and bank stabilization, and native vegetation community establishment. Field work may involve projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Office:

Proposal preparation, client communications, targeted marketing, bid preparation, technical report writing for restoration design and natural resource assessments, permit applications, mitigation monitoring report preparation, lead and/or actively participate in design meetings with other professionals such as engineers, geo-technical engineers, fluvial geomorphologists, fisheries biologists, and regulatory resource agency personnel.

Qualifications:

Desirable Supporting Experience:

Candidates that have knowledge of current methodologies and applicable state and federal law in conducting wetland evaluations and field delineations; native vegetation communities and classifications; and field assessments of stream habitat restoration sites are preferred. A Professional Wetland Scientist certification and/or formal training on the application of USACE wetlands delineation methodology are desirable.

Other supporting skills desirable include; AutoCAD drafting, mitigation/restoration design, permitting, permit field compliance during construction, and post-construction field monitoring. In addition, the successful candidate should possess demonstrable technical writing ability, good interpersonal communication and oral presentation skills, and exceptional attention to details and quality. Regional work experience in the Pacific Northwest is essential.
