Position Overview:

Rummel, Klepper, and Kahl, LLP (RK&K) has an immediate opening for a senior Environmental Planner / Scientist in our Fairfax, Virginia location.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has:

  • An advanced degree in transportation planning, environmental planning, environmental sciences, or a related field and professional certification including AICP, PWS or CEP;
  • 10-15 years of experience in environmental planning focusing on NEPA document preparation, specifically CEs, EAs and EISs for transportation projects;
  • Project experience working with Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act including coordination with environmental regulatory agencies;
  • Working knowledge of other environmental regulations such as Section 106, Section 7, and Environmental Justice;
  • Proven task management expertise providing leadership and hands-on working experience authoring environmental documents and permit applications; and
  • Independent research and problem solving abilities and excellent oral and written communication skills.
