Position Overview:
VHBs growing Environmental practice is searching for an experienced and talented environmental planner for the firms Hauppauge, NY office. The Environmental Planner will assist on projects requiring compliance with the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and related regulations.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties will include:
- Participating in the environmental evaluation
- Documentation
- Permitting of projects as part of an interdisciplinary team of planners, scientists, and engineers
- Coordination with regulatory agencies
- Document preparation and review
- Interactions with clients
- Public presentations
- Project management
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a BA/BS in Environmental Policy/Law, Environmental Science, planning or a related field, or equivalent experience. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of SEQRA and NEPA experience; a minimum of 3 years of providing expert testimony before municipal boards; excellent writing and communication skills and research capabilities; and be highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of coordinating and performing multiple tasks.
