Environmental Law Fellowship The Environmental Law Institute (ELI) announces a fellowship position for an outstanding recent law school graduate. Founded at the beginning of the modern environmental era three decades ago, ELI has played a pivotal role in the evolution of the field. Today, ELI is an internationally recognized independent research and education center that works to improve environmental law, policy, and management worldwide. 

The ELI Fellow will join ELI's Research and Policy staff. The Institute's multi-disciplinary research team advances environmental protection by improving its legal foundation and fostering its creative implementation. The Research and Policy staff includes attorneys with a wide range of government, private sector, and non-profit experience. ELI's research focuses on pollution and natural resource laws and policies at the local, state, federal, and international levels. In addition, projects may examine other laws and policies that affect the environment, including tax, energy, and land use. 

The research staff analyze laws and policies and work with local organizations both domestically and abroad through our programs that focus on modern environmental issues in the U.S., Africa, India, and Latin America Qualifications: This fellowship program is highly competitive. 

 Applicants must have superior research and writing skills and a top academic record. Law review experience is desirable. The fellowship will be awarded to a candidate who will graduate from law school in 2004 or who has graduated within the last two years. 

The fellowship is a one year position and commences in the summer or fall of 2005. 

Salary: Approximately $34,000, with excellent benefits. 

 Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, transcript, list of references, and writing sample of 10-15 pages in length. Cover letters should address the candidate's personal goals and interests, as well as experience and interest in environmental law and policy. No phone calls please.
