At the DOE Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, we advance the coupled fields of fusion energy and plasma physics. PPPL staff and collaborators together are developing the scientific understanding and key innovations needed to realize fusion as an energy source for the world, and are conducting research along the broad frontier of plasma science and technology. We also nurture and support the national research enterprise in these fields, and we educate the next generation of plasma and fusion scientists.

Position Overview:

Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Senior Project Engineer, the Environmental Engineering Assistant will combine environmental stewardship skills in support of sustainability efforts along with radioactive waste program support to provide for annual waste shipments. A significant effort will be applied to meeting new goals and objectives for building energy efficiency, water use reduction, green house gas accounting and reductions in waste generation.

In addition the Assistant will provide administrative assistance to several programs including, the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC), Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) and the PPPL Environmental Management System (EMS). The support requires use of a database to create schedules and reports, provide document control and document compliance program status. Finally, provide technical writing support to project managers in developing procedures and other technical documents.

Qualifications:

Requirements includes the following: a Bachelor's degree in physical science, engineering or equivalent degree and a minimum of 2 years of technical environment or technical writing experience, knowledge of environmental management regulations and practices. The successful candidate must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, excellent communication skills and a proficiency in database management software and systems.

Compensation: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00/Year
