This position is in partnership with the Northwest Service Academy (NWSA), an AmeriCorps program of ESD 112. NWSA’s Mission is: To preserve and restore the natural environment and to develop community leaders through service and community partnerships.
Position Overview:
The member will help coordinate and implement place-based educational activities for Oregon Tilth at our organic farm and gardens.
Responsibilities:
Environmental Educator goals include, assisting staff with curriculum development and leading students of all ages on educational farm field trips, tours and service-learning projects (30%), assisting with management of our educational farm and garden (30%), assist with recruitment and volunteer management (20%), and community outreach (20%).
Member efforts will help grow and expand our youth programs, strengthen our volunteer base, and build upon community awareness of organic agriculture and sustainable food systems while increasing participation and effectiveness of Oregon Tilth’s land based educational projects.
