Description
Driftwood Education Center, located on St Simons Island in Georgia, seeks an individual to teach day and evening programs in beach, forest, and ocean ecology.
Dates: Spring - Mid-January, through end of May.
Duties Include:
* Lead trips to Cumberland Island National Seashore and Okefenokee Swamp.
* Trawl inland waters for marine life.
* Having a willingness to assist in the maintenance of reptiles, mammals, birds, salt water aquariums and touch tanks is a must.
* Assist in curriculum development and other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
* BA/BS in biology, ecology, or related field.
* Must be enthusiastic and demonstrate excellent teaching ability with elementary through high school students.
* Flexibility, a good sense of humor, passion for learning, and a willingness to work long hard hours are essential.
* Paid training, with minimum of 1 year experience in residential education programs.
* You will receive room and board and will possibly have a roommate.
Salary: Experience based, $600-1000/month + room and board.
