Position Overview:

Serve as an Environmental Compliance Specialist and subject matter expert for compliance with federal, state, and local environmental statutes and regulations around the Aberdeen, Maryland region. The Environmental Compliance Specialist will provide technical leadership in the planning, development, organization, coordination, and implementation, and review compliance program.

The individual will prepare supporting environmental policies and program documentation, develop and assist in providing technical support and training to Government employees and contractors, perform internal management system auditing, prepare and present reports, and perform monitoring and coordinate facility corrective and preventive actions.

The candidate will work in the Environmental Planning Department in support of various water projects with a focus on comprehensive watershed planning. The qualified applicant will be responsible for supporting project related tasks such as technical research, preparation of impact analyses and reports, document review, and other similar tasks. The candidate will be responsible for business development with the USACE and other watershed agencies.

This position will offer the candidate the opportunity to work directly with engineers and planners on projects of major significance in Maryland. The candidate's experience will dictate the specific position and salary level.

Qualifications:

Candidate must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited university in the field of planning, or related field and at least 10 years of experience working on USACE plan formulation and/or watershed projects, and drainage basin programs. Must have good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; be able to deliver quality written products in a timely manner and must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
