Environmental Assessment/Remediation Scientist

Duties:

The SI Group, an emerging leader in environmental investigations, risk management, and project management for the real estate and construction industries, is seeking a Environmental Assessment/Remediation Scientist to support our growing business from our new Jacksonville, Florida regional office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, directing and performing routine and complex environmental investigation assignments including Indoor Air Quality, Phase I/Phase II, environmental sampling, UST, and soil/groundwater remediation projects.

Qualifications:

• Qualified candidates must have a minimum of a B.S. in science or engineering, strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
• Candidates must have at least 1 year demonstrated field and project management experience performing ESAs, multi-media sampling, remediation projects.
• Approximately 40% travel anticipated, with project sites located across the nation.
• Advanced degree, professional accreditation (P.E., P.G.), and client development experience are not required, but helpful.

• The position requires a mix of field work and office report with heavy emphasis on permitting, subsurface investigations, and reporting.

• The position requires a detail-oriented, deadline-focused professional able to work with limited oversight and experience performing and directing projects within established budget and schedules.
• Must be physically able and willing to perform field work involving strenuous activities and some heavy lifting (e.g., sample coolers, 55-gallon drums).
