Description

The Youth Workforce "Environmental Academy" leader will supervise a group of five or six teen-aged students (ages 17 to 19) throughout the summer. Service projects will include a two week overnight summer camp for elementary youth; environmental restoration projects such as invasive plant species removal, habitat enhancement and trail building; and community service projects such as assisting with summertime community events.

General Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to): 

1. Provide leadership and mentorship to 5-6 Youth Workforce members. 

2. Work with groups of 15-40 summer camp participants (ages 10-14). 

3. Assist with activity plans and program evaluation. 

4. Provide Mt. Adams Center staff with participant feedback. 

5. Participate in regular meetings with the Mt. Adams Center staff. 

6. Promote a sense of community, collaboration and cohesion among team members. 

7. Develop, participate in, and motivate a diverse, hardworking team. 

8. Analyze projects for safety considerations; train members in appropriate safety practices. 

9. Drive a four-wheel drive vehicle with a trailer. 

10. Serve as a vital communication link between the Mt. Adams Center staff, project sponsors ,and Youth Workforce participants.
